I light a candle every day that I can for my wonderful Dad, my treasured friend Gwenda, and for all others who were taken from this world too soon because they lost their struggle with cancer. I support campaigns to find a cure. Let's also help each other stay strong if you are suffering from cancer, if you have a loved one who is suffering from cancer, or if you have lost someone who you love. I also support Hospice and the great work they do with patients and family members. I am enthusiastic about the progress that is being made. More people survive cancer now than ever before and are able to live full and productive lives, but much more can and should be done. If you have cancer, please do not lose hope.

The most important thing to me is my family, including my precious cat who was a stray before she adopted me. I have a full time job that I enjoy helping people with low incomes obtain quality affordable housing in safe neighborhoods. I volunteer as a legal advocate at the shelter for battered women and their children and the rape crisis center where I was the Director of Advocacy and Counseling for many years. My volunteer work with the victims affected by these horrific crimes is my greatest joy and sometimes my greatest heartache because they do not deserve the violence that occur in their lives. Many of them are children whose lives are changed forever. Working with these crime victims to help them find the path to healing and pursue their legal options is something I am extremely passionate about. I also volunteer at the SPCA and help take care of the precious animals until they find loving pet parents to adopt them. Please have your pets vaccinated, spayed or neutered. Many animals are taken to the shelter and dropped off only because they are having unwanted litters. Cruelty to animals is just plain wrong. I volunteer at Habitat for Humanity which is a great experience I would encourage everyone to get involved with. I find inner peace by being one with nature in many different ways. I love the feel of the sunshine and the wind, and the fragrance of rain, flowers, and freshly mowed grass. I love to see the full moon over the ocean, and gaze at the stars on a clear desert night. Ecology is necessary to maintain the balance and harmony in nature. Everything in nature is connected to everything else in nature. I believe life is precious and each moment is a gift. I am interested in human rights, animal rights, science, nature, the environment, and conservation. I believe you should be true to yourself. Live and let live. Practice random acts of kindness every day. I love the balance of Yin-Yang and the balance of both good Chi and good Karma. I am pro-choice and support stem cell research. I believe in peace on earth and choice on earth. I support the ACLU. None are free unless all are free. I wish peace to people of all faiths; however, I support freedom from ALL organized religion. I believe in evolution. I support separation of church and state including what is taught in public schools and I especially believe religion should not play any role in our foreign policy decisions. Think about how many lives have been lost in so called holy wars. Our Supreme Court should uphold the constitution without catering to religious philosophy. It is up to us to take care of Mother Earth and all things alive on this planet, and protect endangered species from further harm and possible extinction. I support progressive free thinkers and believe you should always question authority. I support alternative lifestyles and believe ALL people have equal rights including same sex marriage. Global warming is not a hoax. It is a serious threat. We should all make immediate and simple changes to our daily lives to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet. We belong to the Earth. The Earth does not belong to us. We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. Live your life as though every day is Earth Day for yourself and for future generations. There is only one human race. Diversity is beautiful. Embrace it. We are ONE!!

Muziek: The Beatles are the greatest band because they changed the world. John Lennon is my favorite because he used his celebrity to promote peace and he was an absolute musical genius. One of my goals is to keep his peace mantra alive by raising the spirit of peace and love. I admire Bob Marley because his music is totally awesome and he was a true freedom fighter. I also love John Denver because he shared his love of nature and life with us all. My favorite music is from the 60's and the 70's, especially all the artists who performed at Woodstock in 1969, and all the artists who were active in the peace and civil rights movements. They made a difference. I wish we would listen to the poets and musical prophets instead of the political pundants. The poets and musicians of the 60's and 70's showed us the way. ~~If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that should have been left behind in the 60's, that's his problem.
