I understand that rap isn't the source of all violence, but to assume that people are not negatively influenced by it would be equally ignorant. If your mind is constantly being filled with negativity, that is what will be produced. Yes violence is depicted in movies, other music, and in other forms, and this has negative affect as well, but does that make it OK to further this by bringing your own negative infulence through rap? Two wrongs dont make a right. Violence will happen, but why should someone be another contributer by influencing others to do so through violent words and depictions, and glorifying illegal acts (selling drugs, gangs, killing etc)?
